Susie Comes to Visit

Hello Everyone,

On Tuesday, Dec. 3rd we went for another hike into the Confluence Park canyon from the other side of the canyon. This time we hiked from the top down into the canyon instead of straight up the canyon from the end as we did when we visited twice before.

There is still quite a bit of snow on the mountain peaks.

The basalt cliffs on this side of the canyon are just a splendid as itis on the other side.

In the afternoon Mom and Dad went back to Zion NP to do some more exploring before Susie comes tomorrow.

They stopped at Big Bend again to search for a rumored California Condor that is currently roosting in the canyon's cliffs below Angel's Landing. The young bird was there roosting in an overhang, but not flying around the steep cliffs as we had hoped.

At the end of the canyon at the Temple of Sinawava, a new rivulet had sprung from the mountain top from snow run-off and it presented an opportunity to take pictures of the small waterfall.

On Wednesday, Dec. 4th we set out early bound for Las Vegas to pick Susie up from the airport.
We were lucky and found her after only a brief delay in finding the right terminal and coordinating her arrival with our cellphones.

It was raining hard and we decided not to spend a long time in the city since we will be returning next week to stay a few days when we bring Susie back for her flight home. It was great to see Susie after such a long time on the road!

We were all very tired after driving 321 miles, the time change, and long flight for Susie from Rochester. So we headed back to the house we are renting in Hurricane, UT.

Tomorrow if the weather cooperates, we will all go to Zion National Park and show Susie around and see if we can find the California Condor again😉.
