Cottonwood & Sedona

Hello Everyone,

On Monday, Dec. 16th we left Death Valley and headed Southeast toward Arizona. We drove over 250 miles the first day and stayed overnight in Kingman, Arizona, back on mountain time.

On Tuesday, Dec 17 we drove another 230 miles to Cottonwood, Arizona, where we will be staying for a couple of weeks. Cottonwood is near to Sedona and Flagstaff Arizona, where there are numerous state parks and a multitude of hiking trails of all stripes.

On Wednesday, Dec. 18th we drove to Sedona to try a hike we found in some of the literature we picked up at the place we are staying for the next two weeks. The trail we intended to hike was Soldier's Pass, but we couldn't find any place to park that didn't have a sign promising to tow our car if we parked any place but in the designated parking area that was completely full. As an alternative, we tried another trail that started at a dog park on the edge of the city.  The "sunrise trail" was not very inspiring but pleasant enough as a substitute.

The red rocks around Sedona are just beautiful to behold and the many trails around the area take full advantage of them.

Tomorrow we are going to explore some more of the trails around Sedona and look around Cottonwood some more as well😌.
