Happy Birthday America!

Hello Everyone,

It's Independence Day, so Happy Birthday America! Yesterday July 3rd we took part of the day off to get some errands taken care of, get the laundry done and repack the car. Then at noon, we drove back to Whitefish so Dad and Mom could get a big bowl of Maintain Berry smoothie to share for lunch. After that, we took a hike on the Whitefish Trail system up on Lion Mountain again. It was fun and we took a different route to the overlook.

Today Mom and Dad got up early again to beat the hoards that descend on the Glacier National Park daily.

There they boarded the first shuttle bus at 7:00AM that transported them up the "Road to the Sun" to the summit of  Logan's Pass, the highest point on the road through the park. The one hour ride afforded them many breathtaking views of the tops of the mountains as well as low hanging clouds and fog in the mountain valleys.

They were up so high they were actually above the clouds. Notice the 1 foot stone wall in the foreground, which is the only protection from going over the edge and falling thousands of feet.

The view from the top was spectacular and they decided to hike to Hidden Lake which is even higher up the highest peak in the park at 10,878 feet. A nice lady offered to take a picture of them near the top.

Look a what they had to hike over on the way. Unfortunately, they also had to turn back partway to the lake because it was too dangerous to go any further, even with bear spray.

So they came back to our apartment, we took a little walk around Columbia Falls and it started raining, so we just relaxed and planned our trip into Canada tomorrow😘.
