Faux Falls

Hello Everyone,

On Wednesday, Oct. 30th in the morning we went for a walk in Spanish Valley in spite of the 35-degree weather. The wind was brisk, but the sun was out which brightened our surroundings and us. We hiked to Faux Falls near Ken's Lake, south of Moab, UT. The valley was beautiful and we found the falls after a brief hike up an unimproved road and trail.

Faux Falls is created by diverting run-off water from the La Sal mountains south of town, through a tunnel drilled through the foothills which terminate in Spanish Valley, emptying into a reservoir called Ken's Lake, to supply water to the rapidly growing city of Moab.

After that, we drove back to our house for lunch, then drove back to Moab so Mom and Dad could get their high dose flu shots to help protect themselves from the flu this season. The local drug store just happened to get a small shipment of the high dose the day before, so they hurried down to the store to get inoculated before they ran out again.

Tomorrow is Halloween, so my human parents bought some candy at the store to pass out to trick-or-treaters if they come knocking on our door tomorrow night.

Tomorrow we are going back to Arches NP to do some more exploring, and I get to go this time😂.
