On Friday, Nov. 15th Dad and Mom drove back to Arches National Park for the ninth time in a month.
This time they went back to the "Windows" to hike around the Primitive Trail and take some pictures from the backside of the Windows.
From the front side of this feature, the North Window is on the left and the South window is on the right. Yes, those are people standing in the south window again. They are not supposed to climb up into the arches, but many of them do it anyway.

The primitive trail around the back to the "Windows" was challenging because at one point hikers must go up and through a pass that is very steep on one side a forces them to slide down a Slickrock section on the other side.
On the way back from the Windows Mom and Dad were treated to a show as they passed "the Garden of Eden" section of the park. The rock climbers were out having a grand time climbing on the "Ice Cream Cones". These features are some of the most popular among rock climbers in the park.
Not far down the road they also discovered a new arch they had not seen before called Pothole Arch. They have driven past it at least four times and not noticed before today.
On Saturday, Nov. 16th we started to go out and investigate the Sand Flats area outside of Moab, but there was a fee to go into the area and we decided the road was too rough and there was very little to see. The Sand Flats area is a world-class ATV and UTV Slickrock area, mostly for four-wheelers, mountain bikers, and dune buggies. So instead, we walked the entire Mill Creek Parkway trail from the Rotary Park, on one end of town, through the central Business district, to the Bike Park on the other end of town (about 3.5 miles one way).
Tomorrow we are going to explore "the Needles" section of Canyonlands National Park about 40 miles south of Moab, Utah😊.
