On the Road to the High Sierras

 Hi Everyone,

On Tuesday, July 6th, we left Kingman, AZ, and drove through the desert, through a mountain pass,  to the Hoover Dam outside of  Las Vegas at Lake Mead as we entered into Nevada.

We drove around the outskirts of  Las Vegas and up over Coyote Pass into the Mojave Desert in California.

On the other side of the mountains, we passed through a few miles of Joshua Trees, one of the rarest trees in the world.

Then back into Nevada, where we stopped at Pahrump, Nevada for lunch then continued on toward Death Valley, California.

We finished the day at the Longstreet Inn and Casino, in the desert a few miles outside the east entrance to Death Valley National Park.

Tomorrow we will be traveling into the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California, the highest mountain range in the continental United States. We will be driving past Mt Whitney the tallest mountain peak in the lower 48 states😀.
