Good Bye Rocky Mountain NP

Hi Everyone,

On Sunday, Sept. 29th, we drove back into the Granby Ranch complex on the other side of the mountain behind the Inn at Silvercreek where we have been staying for the past week. There we decided to hike another potion of the Fraser/Granby Trail. The foliage was great and we enjoyed meeting several new people, some that I made friends with.

In the afternoon Mom and Dad went back to Rocky Mountain National Park to get one last look at the Elk near the roadside.

On the way back home to the Inn, a small group of Pronghorn Antelope posed for one last picture before we left Granby, Co. This is a very young one. Notice the length of his horns, indicating he is not very old.

On Monday, Sept. 30th we drove several hours South and East, to explore Golden Gate Canyon State Park near  Blackhawk, CO. The visitors center had some unique sentries guarding the entrance to the parking lot. There were three "pine tree goblins" overlooking the parking area.

From there we drove a couple of miles further into the canyon to the Burro and Mountain Lion trails for a nice hike to the top of the mountain overlooking the canyon.

Tonight we are staying in a hotel in Castle Rock, CO. Tomorrow we are driving to Colorado Springs for four or five days. Dad and Mom say there are several dog-friendly places to visit there so I will get to go out on some new adventures and make some new friends😀.
