Hi Friends,
On Friday, July 16th, we drove back up to Lake Mary on Mammoth Mountain, and past that to Lake George. Yep, there is another Lake George in California, nowhere near as big as the one in New York State, but still, a nice place to visit.
At about 7:00 AM we started up the Crystal Crag trail, hoping to beat the onslaught of tourists to the top of the mountain peak where Crystal Lake is located.
As we rose up we could easily see both Lake Mary in the foreground and Lake Mammie further away.
After a strenuous hike, we were rewarded with beautiful Crystal Lake at the top.
All around the lake were inspiring views of the nearby forest and peaks.
The trip down was almost as exciting as the trip up.
Tomorrow is our last full day of hiking in Mammoth Lakes. Then we have to pack up and drive through Yosemite National Park on the Tioga Pass Road to the other side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, where can explore the West side of the mountain range😄.
