On Friday, Nov. 29th we awoke to pouring rain again and it was cold to boot. So we only took a couple of walks on the Virgin River Walk in St. George and spent the rest of the day watching the rest of the Harry Potter Marathon on the USA network.
The mountains around the city were receiving several inches of snow that we could see from our hotel room.
On Saturday, Nov. 30 we left St. George, Utah, bound for Hurricane, Utah where we will be staying for the next week while we explore Zion National Park. We drove to Zion and parked in the visitors' parking lot, then went on a long hike on the paved Pa'rus Trail, about 2 miles into the canyon valley. The scenery was breathtaking with the dusting of snow on the high peaks.
It was a fairly clear day but chilly, so we only walked about four miles then left, to come back and finish exploring later.
Then we went back to Hurricane (pronounced HER-RIC-IN by the locals) to check into our home for the week.
Tomorrow Mom and Dad will go back to Zion and ride the shuttle bus to the far end of the canyon valley😊.
