Mom and Dad and I spent a couple of days in a Red Roof Inn before we left Rochester because the closing on our house was on Friday and our family and their friends from Xerox wanted to get together for Bon Voyage parties. So we left on Sunday, June 9th at noon, bound for Cuyahoga Valley National Park near Cleveland, OH, the first stop on our trip.
On Sunday, June 9th, we drove through parts of three states, New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Dad and Mom say I'm a good traveler because I sit in the back seat in my special safety harness and only make noise when it is time to stop for a break.
When we arrived at Cuyahoga Valley National Park, we drove down the valley to see the Great Blue Heron Rookery where we saw several dozen nests with baby Heron's that were being fed by their parents from a nearby stream.
Monday morning, June 10th, we went to Brandywine Falls in Cuyahoga Valley National Park and hiked down to the falls on a nice boardwalk.
There we met a very nice family from Columbus, Ohio, a Mom and Dad and their two daughters. The girls hugged and petted me while their parents talked to my human parents. Then Mom took several pictures of them together and their Dad took some pictures for us in front of the falls. We finished the day by driving five hours through Ohio and Indiana, to Indiana Dunes National Park on the shore of Lake Michigan, not far from Chicago. Tomorrow we will explore the sand dunes in the newest National Park in America 😄
